Refund Policy
Last Updated: August 27, 2026
This Refund Policy explains when and how Know Reply Inc. (“Know Reply”, “we”, “us”) refunds money paid for Earnesty (“the Service”) — and what happens to the Rewards you have already promised your USERs when you cancel. It applies to the organization that pays for Earnesty (your APP), and it works alongside our Billing Terms and Terms of Service. It does not create any payment obligation to USERs: USERs are never paid money by Earnesty, and there is nothing for a USER to refund.
1. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
All new paid subscriptions — monthly and annual — are backed by a 14-day money-back guarantee. If Earnesty is not right for your product within the first 14 days of your initial subscription purchase, ask us and we will refund the subscription fee in full.
This guarantee applies to the first subscription period only. It does not apply to renewals, and it does not by itself unwind Claims already issued to your USERs (see section 6).
2. Subscription Cancellations After 14 Days
- Annual plans. Cancelling an annual subscription takes effect at the end of the current month, not the end of the year, and we refund the unused remainder of the term pro-rata through Stripe’s proration. Cancel 4 months into a 12-month plan and you keep the rest of that month, then get the remaining months back. You are not held to the rest of the year because you paid up front. This matches Section 8 of the Billing Terms.
- Monthly plans. Monthly subscriptions bill on a recurring monthly basis. If you cancel after the 14-day guarantee period, no refund is issued for the current billing cycle. Your paid features remain active until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which your account reverts to the free plan.
- Partial months. We do not refund partial months on monthly plans.
3. Duplicate and Erroneous Charges
If we bill you twice for the same thing, bill you after a valid cancellation, bill the wrong amount, or bill you for a plan you did not select, that is our mistake and we refund it in full — no time limit and no questions about how much of the Service you used. Email us and we will correct it.
4. Downgrades and the Free Plan
Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You keep your current plan’s features until then, and no partial refund is issued for a downgrade on a monthly plan. For annual plans, a downgrade mid-term is treated as a cancellation of the higher tier under section 2 and re-subscription at the lower one.
The free plan costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund. Verification stays fast on the free plan, and every Claim keeps its free “check now” — dropping to free changes what you pay, not what your USERs experience when they post.
5. Exceptions
We do not issue refunds for:
- Accounts terminated for breach of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, including breaches of the disclosure and sentiment-neutrality rules.
- Monthly subscription periods already begun, more than 14 days after the initial purchase.
- Charges from unauthorized use of your account where you did not maintain adequate account security.
- Add-ons or one-time fees, unless we said otherwise when you bought them.
6. Refunds and Outstanding Claims
This is the section that makes Earnesty different from ordinary software billing, so we want to be plain about it.
A refund or a cancellation never unwinds a Claim already issued to a USER. Your USERs posted publicly, with disclosure, in reliance on terms you set. We are not going to take that back, and neither can you. Cancelling closes the faucet for new Claims; it does not reach backwards.
Concretely, on cancellation, downgrade, or refund:
- New issuance stops immediately. No new Claims are issued and no new Drops open from the moment the change takes effect.
- Already-issued Claims are still evaluated and settled at the value in the terms snapshot recorded when they were issued, measured as of each Qualifying Post’s timestamp.
- Open Drop windows run to their stated deadline, on the terms published to USERs when the Drop opened.
- Reply bonuses not yet settled are still settled, in the ordinary way, five days after each post’s own timestamp.
Because every Claim carries a terms snapshot, a cap, and a deadline, the outstanding obligation at any moment is finite and computable. We will show you the number when you cancel.
Settlement of outstanding Claims is an instruction we relay and you honor in your own product. It costs you nothing further with us, and we do not invoice you for it. You grant the Reward yourself — Credits, or whatever form your product gives — inside your own product, at the value in the snapshot. A Reward earned by your USERs is never billed to you by us, whatever form it takes, and no prepaid balance of yours is ever spent on one.
Wind-down costs you nothing further. Verification of posts arriving against Claims already issued and Drops still open is free and unmetered, exactly as it was before you cancelled, and it continues until the last window closes. There is no balance that could run out and stall settlement — Verification and delivery are never gated by billing state or plan.
This mirrors, and does not replace, §7 (Wind-Down and Settlement on Downgrade or Termination) of the Terms of Service — read that section for the full obligation. If the two ever conflict, the Terms of Service govern.
7. Chargebacks
Talk to us before you call your bank. Nearly every billing dispute we see is faster to fix by email than by chargeback, and we will not argue you out of a refund you are owed.
If a chargeback is filed without contacting us first, we may suspend your APP’s account and stop issuing new Claims while we work it out. Suspension does not disturb section 6: Claims already issued to your USERs are still evaluated, and you still honor them in your own product. Any charged-back amount that had already been spent on metered add-ons we performed remains payable by you.
8. How to Request a Refund
- Email hello@earnesty.app with the subject line “Refund Request”.
- Include the email address on your account, your APP’s name, and what you would like refunded and why.
- We will review and respond within 2 business days.
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, in the original currency of the transaction, and typically appear on your statement within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
9. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under mandatory consumer or commercial law that cannot be waived by agreement.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. Where that right applies, it sits alongside — and is not reduced by — the guarantee in section 1. Note that where you asked us to begin providing the Service immediately, you may owe the value of what was supplied before you withdrew, which is the Verification, tracking, and insight work we performed for you in that period.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and we will tell you by email if a change is material. Changes never apply retroactively to a refund request you have already made, and they never change the settlement terms of a Claim already issued — those are fixed by the snapshot taken when the Claim was issued.
